PROPYLFLUO
824
PROPYLFLUO 824 is a unique combination of high
melt point polymeric polypropylene and PTFE that has
been micronized to a 2.0-3.0 NPIRI grind gauge reading.
PROPYLFLUO 824 can be easily dispersed into printing
inks, paints or coatings with high speed dispersion
equipment.
PROPYLFLUO
824 has been formulated to impart the gloss reduction
and blocking resistance usually associated with polypropylene,
along with the lubricity (slip) provided by PTFE. Each
of the components are designed to provide properties
for excellent performance when added to various coating
systems.
Optimum
properties are usually achieved by adding 0.5-4.0% by
weight. The amount required will vary depending on the
type of application and the end use requirements.
PROPYLFLUO
824 is recommended for use in the following areas:
flexo, gravure, sheet fed (quick set), ultra violet
(UV) printing inks; coil coatings, industrial paints
or finishes and all types of overprint varnishes (OPV's)
.
Due
to the high melting point and solubility resistance
of PROPYLFLUO 824, it is especially effective
in providing gloss control while imparting mar resistance
and lubricity in lacquers and coatings.
At
temperatures above 600°F, some polymer fumes may
be emitted due to decomposition of the PTFE polymer.
Therefore, smoking should not be permitted when working
with this material.
Conforms
to the following FDA Sections: 21 CFR 175.300, 176.170,
176.180.
All
components are TSCA Registered.
