POLYSILK 750 is a finely micronized polyethylene
that has been specifically modified to provide a combination
of toughness, abrasion and block resistance while imparting
a silky feel and surface lubricity to printing inks and
coatings.
POLYSILK 750 is micronized to a NPIRI grind
gauge reading of 2.0-3.0 for easy incorporation into
solvent, oil, or waterborne systems by means of a high
speed disperser.
POLYSILK 750 has been formulated to be used
as the sole additive in order to provide maximum surface
protection and a smooth feel which eliminates the need
for other additives that are used to achieve this combination
of properties.
Additions of 1-3% by weight are suggested for best
performance. However, the level of addition will depend
on end use requirements. Due to the unique nature of
this product, the optimum effect of a smooth
silky feel will be reached approximately 12 to 24 hours
after application while all other surface protection
characteristics are realized immediately.
POLYSILK 750 can be used in all types of printing
inks, paints and coatings. However, it is especially
recommended for use in the following areas: solvent
and water based printing inks, lacquers and coatings
applied on non-porous substrates, wood and leather finishes,
coil coatings, industrial finishes, can coatings and
low energy heat-set cover inks.
