PROPYLMATTE
31
PROPYLMATTE 31 is a micronized polypropylene
that is manufactured using specialized equipment to
provide a unique matte effect. The particle size is
carefully controlled to produce a uniform surface in
paints and coatings. PROPYLMATTE 31 is produced
from a unique polypropylene polymer which allows it
to impart non-slip properties when added to flexographic
printing inks and paints. PROPYLMATTE 31 will
also provide a uniform matte finish when added to lacquers
and powder coatings. The low density and insolubility
characteristics of PROPYLMATTE 31 will reduce
or eliminate settling and provide optimum performance
in all types of paints and coatings.
The high molecular weight and toughness of PROPYLMATTE
31 will provide optimum abrasion resistance & gloss
control properties and will be less abrasive when compared
to silica additives.
PROPYLMATTE 31 is recommended for use in industrial
paints, lacquers and coatings (e.g. wood, metal, powder
or sprayed). The level of addition depends on the gloss
control desired. Usually, adding 2-5% based upon resin
solids of PROPYLMATTE 31 will give a matte/satin
finish. PROPYLMATTE 31 will also impart a uniform
matte effect in powder coatings due to its high melting
point and polymer base. PROPYLMATTE 31 can be
used either alone or in combination with silica type
matting additives.
PROPYLMATTE 31 can be easily dispersed into
all types of paints and coatings using high speed mixing.
