MICROMATTE 2000 is a finely micronized hybrid polypropylene
wax that is manufactured to provide a unique matting effect.
The particle size is carefully controlled to produce a
uniform surface in paints and coatings. MICROMATTE
2000 has been specifically formulated to provide gloss
control to powder coatings and wood finishes. The low
density and insolubility characteristics of MICROMATTE
2000 will help promote adhesion and provide optimum
resistance to burnishing.
The high molecular weight and toughness of MICROMATTE
2000 will provide optimum abrasion resistance &
gloss control properties and will be less abrasive when
compared to silica additives.
The level of addition of MICROMATTE 2000 depends
on the gloss control desired. Generally, adding 2-5%
based upon total formula weight of MICROMATTE 2000
will give a matte/satin finish. MICROMATTE 2000
will impart a uniform matte effect to powder
coatings due to its high melting point and polymer base.
MICROMATTE 2000 can be used either alone or in
combination with silica type matting additives when
necessary.
