AQUA POLYSILK 19 is a unique combination of polymers
that has been specifically formulated to provide a combination
of abrasion, scratch and heat resistance while imparting
a smooth feel and lubricity to printing inks, paints and
coatings.
AQUA POLYSILK 19 is micronized to a NPIRI grind
gauge reading of 3.5 - 4.5 for easy dispersion into
water borne systems.
AQUA POLYSILK 19 is similar in properties to
Polysilk 14 but it has the added characteristics of
increased heat resistance, improved hardness and scratch
resistance and easier dispersibility. These characteristics
will help to maximize surface protection and film toughness.
Additions of 0.5-1.5% by weight are suggested for best
performance. However, the level of addition will depend
on end use requirements. Due to the unique nature of
this product, the optimum effect of a smooth,
silky feel and tape release will be reached approximately
12 to 24 hours after application.
AQUA POLYSILK 19 can be used in all types of
printing inks, paints and coatings. However, it is especially
recommended for use in the following areas: water based
printing inks, lacquers and coatings; wood and leather
finishes, coil coatings, industrial finishes, and water
based can coatings.
At temperatures above 600oF (316oC) some polymer fumes
may be emitted due to decomposition of the fluorocarbon
polymer. Therefore, smoking should not be permitted
when working with this material.
