Procedure
Stir
Constantly.
Sprinkle
Carbopol very slowly into water and glycerine in batch
tank. The powder should be added into the vortex created
by a very rapidly stirring propeller mixer. Stir until
get uniform dispersion with no "fish eyes". Then heat
to 65°C. Heat oil phase in separate container to 70°C.
Add oils at 70°C to batch at 65°C. Mix a few minutes,
then add TEA to batch. Stirring should be slowed, so
that no air is incorporated, when oils are added to
the water. Begin cooling to room temperature. At 55°C,
add Germaben and then the Microscrub. May have to use
a spatula or paddle type stirrer to disperse the Microscrub.
QS with cold water (based on tare weight of beaker)
to add back the water lost during heating.
